The New York Yankees are finalizing a deal to buy defensive linebacker Gallo from the Texas Rangers, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Bassan Wednesday night.

The transaction is pending medical review.

It was not immediately known who New York was sending to Texas to finalize the deal.

Gallo was ground zero late in the Rangers lineup ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Diamondbacks, with speculation that a trade was in the works.
