The Federal Aviation Administration is again investigating reports of a person in a jet plane flying thousands of feet above Los Angeles — near the flight path that planes use to land at the city’s international airport.
“A Boeing 747 pilot reported seeing an object possibly resembling a jetpack 15 miles east of Laax at an altitude of 5,000 feet around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Out of extreme caution, air traffic controllers alerted other pilots in the vicinity,” the FAA said in a statement. statment.
An FAA spokesperson said the FBI “will work with the FAA to investigate the report as we have done in the past to establish the facts.”
The agency said it was unable to verify any previous reports of sightings of a jet plane.
In August, two pilots on separate flights reported seeing a jet plane as they disembarked at Los Angeles International Airport.
One of the pilots said: “An American tower 1997. We just passed a guy in a jet plane.”
“Only in Los Angeles,” an unknown person said in the audio log.
About two months later, a crew member on a China Airlines plane reported something resembling a “flying suit” passing at 6,000 feet.
