Because of the pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has been postponed to this year and the way things are complicated these days, the games are taking place now but it is still called the 2020 Olympics. All 1,700 Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in Tokyo are receiving a free limited edition Samsung Galaxy S21 5G. These models feature a stunning blue body with either the Olympic rings on the back or the three Paralympics symbol, along with leaving Tokyo with a life full of memories, perhaps a medal or two, and the Galaxy S21 5G, athletes in Tokyo are invited to visit the Galaxy Athlete in the Olympic Village and Paralympic Games . There, athletes can design a personalized bag for their free phones with stickers inspired by the 2020 games. They can also collect exclusive Olympic and Paralympic pins. In case you were wondering, Samsung first introduced a special phone to the Olympics in 1988 (obviously not a smartphone). All Olympic athletes have received a telephone since Sochi 2014, and all Paralympic practitioners have received a free telephone headset since PyeongChang in 2018.

Some athletes have already expressed their feelings about Samsung’s participation in the games. Take for example the British skater Sky Brown who said: “I am very proud to be part of Team Galaxy in Tokyo 2020. I travel to competitions all over the world, taking my Samsung phone everywhere so I can stay in touch with family and friends anywhere I am. I hope to inspire other kids who watch me skate at the Games to decide that they can be Olympians too.”
