With Bellator entering 263 on Saturday, fighting fans were expecting a violent exclamation point to end the rivalry between second division champion Patricio Pitbull and undefeated rival AJ Mackie.
But less than one round in the competition, it was Mackie who walked away with a submission win, a new championship, and the $1 million Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix.
Here’s how the rest of his fellow fighters reacted to his historic victory inside The Forum in Englewood, California.

Bad stop in my opinion PatricioPitbull didn’t click that he was hit by the kick but he didn’t finish and the choke didn’t sleep. It’s a million dollars at stake and it will stay until the end. Tweet embed
