Jordan slams January 6 committee: If ‘everything is on the table’ why can’t we question Pelosi

Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, responded to his exclusion from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 committee on “Life, Liberty, and Levine.”

Jordan argued that Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Thompson and Pelosi could not positively draw attention to the Democrats’ far-left agenda, which is largely unpopular in the center of the country, also pointing to high inflation and other problems.

Because of that, Jordan said the only “evidence” they have is a return to attacking former President Donald Trump, which has proven to energize their base — and that the Jan. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., Controversial Intelligence Committee Hearings.

Jordan said that Thompson announced that “everything is on the table” to be investigated at the hearings – the first of which took place this week, police officers Michael Fannon of the MPD and Harry Dunn of the USCP.

“You have to ask the questions and the answers we need to get to and deal with why there isn’t a better security situation that day. Only the speaker of the US House of Representatives can answer that,” Jordan said.

And that’s the only question: President Thompson said ‘everything is on the table’–well, excuse me, everything is on the table except this question.’

“So this tells you about the political nature of this entire committee.”

In his opening statement at Tuesday’s hearing, Thompson declared that the investigation “will be guided only by the facts, the facts of what happened on January 6 and the lead up to that tragic day and what has happened since then.”

“This is what House Resolution 503 has mandated us to do,” Thompson continued. “There is no place for politics or partisanship in this investigation. Our only job is to follow the facts where they lead us.”

Host Mark Levine later added that there was no reason to trust Thompson’s party, the Democrats, given that they had “unleashed” Marxist violence and “chaos” on the streets by providing a very different reaction to the riots in Antifa and Black Lives Matter. “They adopted the Black Lives Matter, an anarchist and violent Marxist organization led by Marxists,” he said.

“They’ve been transporting police officers from the sea to the sparkling sea,” Levin continued, adding that Democrats “cherry-picked” the witnesses.

“How does it happen that more officers from that day are not testifying, including those who opened doors and let people in, as a matter of fact, including those who had questions — as I pointed out — with Nancy Pelosi in command of the Democratic Party?” Levin said. In the House there are a lot of questions that we want to pursue,” he said, noting Jordan’s earlier assertion that the head of the Capitol Police Union would like to make his remembrances.
