Tottenham have called off Hakim Ziyech’s goals to silence Chelsea fans but Nuno Espirito Santo has been forced to tackle the Harry Kane transfer story.

Tottenham came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Chelsea in a pre-season friendly match, but Tottenham coach Nuno Espirito Santo faced questions about a player clearly due to his absence.

Harry Kane’s failure to report for pre-season training dominated the headlines ahead of an entertaining friendly match between his London rivals at Stamford Bridge.

Kane’s absence was still the main talking point after the match

There is no doubt that Manchester City’s exhausting goal from Florida would have seen an encouraging display from a team that wants his departure after 17 years.

After being forced to sit at Chelsea’s Champions League bid and then slipped by two goals from Hakim Ziyech, Tottenham showed some of the bottle to turn the tide of the match.

Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn scored in the second half to silence the near-total Stamford Bridge crowd, which had been buzzing for 65 minutes.

He could have cheered his team Nuno’s show

Even so, Nuno’s first post-match press kit question was inevitable, as much as he tried to escape from it.

I won’t talk to you about it. He said when asked about Ken.

“It’s not that I don’t want to comment, I think all issues regarding Harry should be discussed internally, amongst ourselves and trying to avoid any kind of public debate or discussion on the subject.

The match was preceded by a memorial show for Chelsea

We focus on what’s important. We have to solve the situation but between us.

“We are resolving the situation internally with the club. Talking and trying to come up with a better solution and a conclusion to this situation.”

Kane is expected to return later this week, although he faces at least five days of self-isolation due to his travels.

And Nuno is still waiting for their first conversation, which may not happen until next week.

“The answer I will give you is that I expect to speak with Harry soon and I haven’t had the chance yet,” he added.
