The face of a mother who left her child to starve to death in Brighton – while participating for six days across the West Midlands – has been revealed.

Today Verphy Kudi was jailed for nine years, with CCTV showing her to party across Coventry, Solihull and London.

CCTV images show the teenage mother abandoning her daughter, before returning six days later – when Asya has already died.

Asia was left alone at home as the DJ made an ad for the teddy bear in celebration of Vervey’s birthday while she was having fun in a huge nightclub.

Cody went to a concert in the ’90s at Elephant and Castle and even a DJ announced her birthday during her long, days-long trip away from home, according to court hearings.

Her daughter, just 20 months old, died of flu and starvation.

She was left at home for more than five days.

Cody, now 19, appeared in the dock at Louis Crown Court on Friday for sentencing after being found guilty of manslaughter.

Cody, wearing a black jacket and face mask, bowed her head as the details of the last days of her daughter’s life were read in the courtroom.

Prosecutor Sally Howes QC said CCTV covering Cody’s home showed that she had left Asia alone in the apartment for five days, 21 hours and 58 minutes.

In a statement issued by Sussex Police, Asia and Vervey’s family said: “We are saddened by the current situation and as a family we have many unanswered questions.

“Verphy has experienced so much at such a young age and we have always done what we can to support her.

“As a family, we are in the midst of an unbearable tragedy. Not only do we come to terms with what happened today but we continue to mourn our beloved Asia.

“We would be grateful if our privacy could be respected at this moment.”
