Manchester City fans demand the return of Sergio Aguero amid Barcelona ‘contract dispute’ after Messi exit

Barcelona may face more bad news after it was reported that former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is “extremely angry” at the current situation at the Catalan club.

Aguero, City’s record scorer, joined Barcelona earlier this summer after his decade-long stay in Manchester expired following the expiration of his contract.

Barcelona then signed Aguero with the hope that he will play a crucial role in Lionel Messi’s commitment to his future for the club at the end of his own contract that expired on 1 July.

However, Barcelona revealed the shocking news on Thursday that due to “financial and structural hurdles” they will not be able to sign a new contract with the club legend.

The main issue was that Barcelona would not be able to sign a new contract with Messi and keep the club within the rules of the La Liga salary cap.

The news regarding his dear friend leaving the club, has made former City star Aguero “very angry” about the situation according to TNT Sports Argentina.

Barcelona-based website Btvesports also reported that Aguero and his lawyers are reviewing the terms of the contract signed a few weeks ago and that his future at the club “doesn’t look good”.

Manchester City fans responded to the news and called on Pep Guardiola to “take him home”, with one fan even suggesting they bring Lionel Messi to the federation while they’re at it.

Abzmcfc tweeted: “Messi and Aguero signed twice with City. Who says no?”

“ManCity signed him,” MCFCAJ10 commented, while J_Citizen1 added, “Come Sergio we’ll welcome you back with open arms.”

There were also some rash comments by City fans with MCFCSam commenting ‘I heard he’s a very good lad’ and Aran replying: ‘Didn’t you see a lot of this guy being better than Jesus?’

Aguero scored 260 goals in 390 games for City, with Twitter user Iestyn tweeting: “Good stats on the player, might also give him a year or two to see what he’s around.”
