Chelsea have agreed in principle to a club record 97.5 million pounds (115 million euros) deal to re-sign striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

The paperwork is now with the club’s lawyer, and once that is formalized, Lukaku will undergo a medical and sign a five-year contract.

Inter had previously rejected two offers from Chelsea for the Belgium international, the second worth 85 million pounds (100 million euros), in addition to left-back Marcos Alonso.

Lukaku, 28, left Chelsea in 2014 after making just 15 appearances there after arriving at Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2011.

With reports of a possible return to Chelsea, we take a look at some of Lukaku’s best goals in the Premier League

Lukaku is one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, scoring 87 goals in 166 games for Everton between 2014 and 2017 and finding the net 42 times in 96 matches in his two years at Manchester United before signing with Inter in 2019.

He scored 24 goals in Serie A last season and helped Inter win their first Serie A title in 11 years, as the club ended Juventus’ nine-year reign as Serie A champions.

Inter must cut their salary bill this summer, and title-winning coach Antonio Conte left the club in May amid concerns about plans to cut his budget.

Chelsea are eager to sign a world-class attacking player during the transfer window, and Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund is another target the Blues have been interested in.
