The summer transfer window is fast approaching and Arsenal are still linked with strengthening their squad ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Brentford.

Mikel Arteta has already added three new faces to his squad after Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lukonga and Ben White have all moved to the Emirates Stadium, but more could be crossed before the end of the month.

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez was reported to be one of those on Arsenal’s radar, but a deal appeared off the table when Romelu Lukaku agreed to a move to Chelsea.

The Belgian is set to move to west London on Monday for a club-record fee, which would make Martinez the only ninth-place holder recognized by the Nerazzurri.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter may look to recruit two forwards to replace Lukaku and possibly Martinez, if both leave the club.

Edin Dzeko has been described as likely to be brought in first and will leave enough money to buy a second striker, with Joaquin Correa and Duvan Zapata on their radar.

If Inter bring in new strikers, it could mean that Martinez is up for sale and will affect Arsenal’s bid to sign the 23-year-old, who has two years left in the current deal.

The Italian giants are planning a potential exodus to free up some money and have already started doing so when Achraf Hakimi made a £55m move to Paris Saint-Germain.

This latest development may open the door for Martinez to make the switch to Emirates and Inter’s decision on who to attend will undoubtedly influence the move.
