Frequencies have declined among younger age groups to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the new figures.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) survey looked at attitudes from 23 June to 18 July – a day before most coronavirus restrictions were lifted in England.

For young adults aged 16-17 – who are now able to take a hit after last week’s announcement to extend the rollout to that age group – the frequency has fallen from 14% to 11%.

Among those aged 18 to 21, the frequency around punches fell to 5% from 9%, and for those aged 22 to 25 it decreased slightly from 10% to 9%.

Coronavirus vaccines for youngsters aged 16 to 17 began on Friday, two days after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI) recommended an extension of the program.

Until that point, some people under the age of 18 were eligible for an injection if they had certain health conditions, lived with someone who was immunocompromised or was approaching their 18th birthday.

The rollout means all 1.4 million UK residents aged 16 and 17 are now eligible for the first dose.

For the NSO survey, vaccine frequency refers to adults who chose not to be vaccinated, reported a significantly or somewhat more likely to get the vaccine if offered, or responded “unlikely and unlikely,” “don’t know,” or They’d rather not be vaccinated, he says, “when asked how likely they would be to receive a jab if they were offered it.

The Office for National Statistics data included 15,433 people aged 16 and over in England, Scotland and Wales.

Overall, more than nine in 10 adults (96%) reported positive feelings about coronavirus vaccines while 4% reported hesitation – numbers unchanged from previous results covering the period May 26 to June 20.

The Office for National Statistics said vaccination frequency has fallen in most areas of the UK.

Areas that previously had the highest frequency in the early part of the year saw a decline, with inner East London down from 13% to 7%, outside London West and North West from 12% to 7%, and West Wales and the Valleys down from 11% to 5% for the period Between April and July.

The results indicate that the most frequent groups are in London and the Midlands.
