The body of lost hiker Esther Dingley and her equipment were found together in the Pyrenees, near where her bone was discovered two weeks ago.

Ms. Dingley, 37, was last seen walking alone in the mountain range near the Franco-Spanish border on November 22 last year.

The discovery was made yesterday afternoon by her partner, Danielle Collegiate, following the search efforts he has been on since her disappearance, the LBT Global Overseas Crisis Support (formerly Lucie Blackman Trust) charity said.

A team of forensic specialists, along with mountain rescue personnel, were sent to the site to retrieve her body.

In a statement, LBT Global said: “At this point, the accident is the most likely hypothesis, given the location and other early indications. A full investigation is underway to confirm the details surrounding this tragedy.”

“The family remains extremely grateful for the efforts and commitment of the participating police units to understand the exact circumstances of Esther’s death.”

“LBT Global supports Daniel and Esther’s mother Rhea, as they come to terms with this news,” she added.

A single bone was found in the mountain range two weeks ago and DNA was tested and confirmed to be Mrs. Dingley’s bone.

She had been traveling across Europe in a camper with her partner since 2014 but disappeared on a three-day solo trip.

Mr. Collegate and Mrs. Dingley met at Oxford University and lived in Durham before they set out to travel around the continent.
