Corona virus vaccinations by numbers: 47129400 receive the first dose
The government has finally confirmed that Britons practicing the double appeal will not need to self-isolate from Monday.
People under the age of 18 will also be able to skip quarantine, but both groups will be advised to take a PCR test once they have been contacted by the NHS Test and Trace.
Fully vaccinated people will only be able to skip self-isolation if they are vaccinated a second time 14 days before they come into contact with the test and trace service.
Crucially, people are at risk of infection even if they are fully vaccinated.
The government advised fully vaccinated Britons contacted by the app to “consider other precautions such as wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces, and limiting contact with other people”.

And those who have been double stabbed will still need to self-isolate.
This confirmation comes after weeks of detour, backtracking, and mounting confusion.
Boris Johnson said last week that recent data showing a decline in daily cases was encouraging but that “it is too early to draw any general conclusions”.
“The most important thing is for people to realize that the current situation still requires a lot of caution and for people to just remember that the virus is still there, a lot of people have been infected with it, and it is still a huge risk,” he added.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said: “Requiring close contacts of people with COVID-19 to self-isolate has played an important role in helping us get this virus under control, and millions of people across the UK have made tremendous sacrifices by doing so.
“Every one of these sacrifices helped us protect the NHS and save lives.
“Having two doses of the vaccine turned the odds in our favor and allowed us to safely regain our lost freedoms, and from Monday we can take another big step toward our normal lives by removing self-isolation requirements for people who are double stabbed in contact with people with COVID-19.” .
School self-isolation rules in England
Students returning to school and university next month will be able to avoid self-isolation because they fall into the under-18 category.
The minister is said to be keen to avoid further disruption to education.
School bubbles for pupils have been abolished in England and children are no longer required to wear face coverings in class.
Social distancing for pupils has also been canceled along with start and end times.
The government will review test requirements at the end of September.
Currently, high school students will need to take two on-site and two at home exams.

Twice-vaccinated health and social care workers who are contacted by testing and tracing will be able to return to work as long as they have a negative PCR test.
They will still need to do daily lateral flow tests for 10 days.

A total of 86,780,455 doses were administered in the UK, with 47,091,889 subjects receiving the first dose (89%) and 39,688,566 subjects receiving both doses (75%).
The Health Secretary has confirmed that preparations are underway to introduce the UK’s Covid booster vaccines from next month, but a leading vaccine expert has indicated they are not needed.
Sajid Javid said the government is awaiting the advice of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI), but noted that the plan is likely for those over 50 to have a Covid-19 booster vaccine offered at the same time as the flu vaccination.
He said that those who got vaccinated when the vaccine was launched in December last year will be given priority.
Boris Johnson should fire Ben Elliott as Conservative party co-chair “immediately”, says David Cameron in a fresh lobbyist dispute over the US biotech company’s £123m contract.
