A 15-year-old girl died in hospital four days after she was injured in a karting accident.
She was injured at Capital Cars in Barking, east London, on Friday afternoon.
The Metropolitan Police said paramedics and police attended and she was taken to hospital, but the girl was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
Officers work with health and safety officials from the local council during the investigation of the incident.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said it was called to report an incident at Rippleside Commercial Estate at 2.23pm.
They added: “We have dispatched a number of resources including an ambulance, response vehicle paramedics, an advance paramedic and an incident response officer.
We also sent an air ambulance to London.
“We treated an individual at the scene before he was taken to a major trauma center in London.”
