Hollywood power couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have poked fun at the fallout after revealing their family’s somewhat comfortable approach to bathing.
Kutcher and Kunis recently told the Armchair Expert podcast that while they wash their vital items every day, they don’t shower or bathe very often — a policy that includes their children Wyatt, six, and Dimitri, four.
Speaking with host Dax Shepherd, Kunis said, “I don’t wash my body with soap every day.
“I wash potholes, dirt, holes, slippers…When I had kids, I also didn’t wash them every day. I wasn’t the parent who washed my newborn—ever.”
“If you can see dirt on it, clean it up. Otherwise, it’s no use,” Kutcher added.
The admission sparked a debate in Hollywood about personal hygiene habits, with some other listeners offering their own advice – Shepard and his wife Kristen Bell said they were “a big fan of waiting for the stench” in an interview, while Jake Gyllenhaal told Vanity Fair, “I find showering more and more at Sometimes it’s less necessary.”
Kutcher and Kunis have since responded to the stench they caused, by making fun of her in an Instagram video.
Standing in their bathroom while washing the kids, actor Kutcher said, “You’re putting water on the kids? Are you trying to melt them?”
“Are you trying to wound them with water? That’s ridiculous. What’s going on?”

Family Guy star Kunis then responded with a laugh, “We bathe our kids.
“This is the fourth time this week, four times this week. Their body oils will be destroyed.”
The post captioned: “This shower is out of control.”
Sheppard sparked the conversation after telling podcast host Monica Badman that using soap every day gets rid of your body’s natural oils—which Kutcher and Kunis agreed.
“I didn’t have hot water as a kid so I didn’t shower much anyway,” said Soviet-born Kunis.
Kutcher, no doubt for the comfort of those around him, said he cleans his “armpits and sickle every day” and tends to “dump some water on my face after a workout to get rid of the salts.”
Kunis said she washes her face twice a day.
