The court of the defunct ROM owner has ordered the “permanent destruction” of all unauthorized Nintendo games they have access to.

As TorrentFreak reports, California District Judge Matthew Strowman, the current owner of RomUniverse, has ordered “to permanently destroy all unauthorized Nintendo games or other unauthorized copies of Nintendo’s intellectual property rights including movies, books, and music” no later than August 17.

Storman must file an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, to the California federal court “certifying his compliance with these terms” by August 20.

In late May, Storman was ordered to pay $2.1 million in copyright and trademark infringement compensation when running the RomUniverse, after Nintendo of America filed for it again in September 2019.

Storman was ordered to pay the fee in monthly installments of $50, due to his unemployment, but he missed a down payment. Then Nintendo applied for a permanent injunction to prevent Storman from reviving the site. This was awarded last week.

The injunction meant that Storman would be barred from a long list of actions that would prevent the return of the RomUniverse in any meaningful way.
