A father of three died suddenly just hours after taking a smiling selfie at the hospital where he went with back pain.

Jagadish (Jagh) Kaufval’s death has left his family and friends in a state of shock after the shocking incident at the Leicester Royal Infirmary last Wednesday, Leicestershire Live reports.

His grieving wife, son, aged 11, and daughters, aged 7 and 17, are trying to come to terms with after he went into cardiac arrest and died, having been diagnosed with a lung infection that had spread to his throat.

Shimla Pinks Bobby Singh, Jag’s best friend who worked with him at Leicester Restaurant, said he and his family were “absolutely shocked and in disbelief”.

At around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Jag was rushed to the hospital after complaining of back pain and sending his friend Bobby a smiling selfie from his hospital bed.

Bobby told LeicestershireLive: “After the tests, the doctors said it was a lung infection that had spread to his throat.

“They told me he started coughing up blood and went into cardiac arrest. He died a few hours later. We are all sad.”

According to his close friend, it has not been confirmed whether the death was related to Covid-19 and the coroner is now conducting an investigation.

Bobby added, “Jagadish was a wonderful friend, father, husband and brother who impacted the lives of those around him.”

The sudden death has now left his grieving family in financial distress as Jag takes care of the bills.

His wife, Thuchara is from India and does not speak English, which means that she was not able to work while taking care of her three children.

After his death, the family was unable to pay their internet bill and so it was difficult for them to contact their family in India to inform them of the tragedy.

Bobby, who now owns Nottingham Restaurant, “4550 Miles from Delhi” stepped in to help them.

He said, “I feel it is my responsibility to help them. I paid their internet bill and brought them food but they really need more help.

“One day they had a husband and a father and the next day he was gone. I don’t want the kids to suffer – not being able to eat or do activities.

“They should be able to live a life of their own after this tragedy. I am so grateful to everyone who has donated so far. I can’t thank you enough. I just hope it helps anyone who can.”

Bobby created a GoFundMe to help raise money for a grieving family as they try to get back on their feet after the sudden death of a loved one.
