Kylian Mbappe booed by PSG fans amid speculation over Liverpool transfer

Liverpool’s association, even if temporary, continues with the transfer of Kylian Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker doesn’t have a year left on his contract, with the Reds and Real Madrid being longtime fans.

Mbappe has yet to put pen to paper in the extension, which means the £166m signing could leave Paris next summer as a free agent as things stand.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted on Wednesday there was “no excuse” for Mbappe not to sign an extension after Lionel Messi’s arrival.

Messi, along with his new teammates, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and former Liverpool midfielder Ginny Wijnaldum, was revealed to the PSG fans on Saturday.

Sections of the 50,000-capacity stadium could be heard booing Mbappe, but there was also a few applause from parts of the audience.

The 22-year-old went on to provide one assist and netted a goal as PSG won 4-2 over Strasbourg.

It was previously reported that Mbappe is keen to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, which has been used as a reason he has yet to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 club.
