Suffolk Banksy’s artwork destroyed at a low
A new Banksy mural has been vandalized just two days after it was confirmed that it was the artist’s work.
Locals are outraged after a rat sipping a cocktail was defaced with white paint on the Suffolk Coast.
It was hoped that the artworks, at Lowestoft, would attract tourists, with thousands expected to travel from all over the world.
Less than 48 hours after the announcement, one of the murals, showing a rat sipping a cocktail, has crashed.
Resident Richard Gerling came down early this morning to find that the now famous business had already been destroyed, Suffolk Live reports.
The white paint appears to have been applied to the wall in what looks like a roller. It is not yet known if the paint can be removed.
The mural was painted with white paint.

There are a total of four Banksy pieces in Lowestoft and other artworks on the Norfolk Coast in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Cromer.
Lowestoft’s mural appeared earlier this month, before the artist revealed his responsibility.
“We live within half a mile of rat artwork and dog walks in the area daily,” Gerling said.
“We walked by the mouse around 6:30pm yesterday and everything was fine. There was a constant flow of people arriving to take pictures of the artwork.

“We saw on Facebook around midnight that it had been defaced. We walked there this morning to see the very sad scene.”
The photos show a woman already down on the waterfront this morning trying to clean up graffiti.
Mrs. Gerling spoke to her and discovered that she had gone to see the artwork this morning at about 6:30 in the morning.
“It was the first time I saw Banksy,” he added.
“She was so sad that she came home and got some cleaning equipment. She was very careful and it seemed like the white paint was coming off very slowly.”
Banksy’s ‘A Great British Spraycation’ on Instagram has nearly six million views and shows him cruising through cities like Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.
