Raphael Varane sends a message to his Manchester United teammate Jadon Sancho

Raphael Varane is relishing the possibility of linking up with fellow Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho.

The 28-year-old was officially revealed at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon – before watching his teammates smash arch rivals Leeds on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Portuguese striker Bruno Fernandes led the way with a hat-trick in front of the returning fans. Mason Greenwood and Fred were also involved, scoring at the start of the second half as Varane’s compatriot Paul Pogba provided an eye-catching four assists.

It was a memorable day for United supporters upon their return to Old Trafford, not least because of Varane’s impressive appearance on the pitch.

Of course, Varane played no part in the match, although Manchester City academy graduate Sancho only submitted in the last 15 minutes against the Whites.

This means there must be more of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Varane eager to play his part.

In fact, the World Cup winner and France international put 79 matches on Sancho in his latest Instagram post.

Addressing 16.3 million followers on his social media platform, Varane posted a picture of himself in depth conversation with Sancho along with the caption: “Back to work with new colleagues!”

Having scored that impressive win on the opening day, United returned to the Premier League matches in Southampton on Sunday afternoon (2pm). He could see Sancho and Varane both enter the starting line-up.
