The Chiefs at Channel 4 apologized after broadcasting a seven-character gay slur during the countdown.
A contestant on Monday’s episode of the popular Teatime featured the word “p *****r” – in the dictionary – as one of his answers.
However, he’s joined fans and even rival audition hosts in now wondering why he wasn’t modified, according to The Mirror.

Channel 4 admitted that allowing it to be broadcast was a “miscalculation” and apologized for any wrongdoing it caused.
No-nonsense host Richard Osman was one of those who said he was surprised that the offensive word was not omitted from Monday’s show.
“The rider was embarrassed to say it, but in this case the easy solution is for everyone to agree he scored 7 and take it back with a different answer,” he said.

“We’ve done this multiple times with ‘correct’ answers.
“A very easy solution, not uncommon,” he added.
Journalist Scott Bryan said, “As someone who is called ‘p*****r’ by homophobia on a daily basis, why on earth would a countdown allow it to be said cheerfully as an answer on daytime TV? Yes, I know it’s in the dictionary.”
“But after being on the receiving end of that word as abuse for years (along with f*****), then casually hearing it as an answer in a quiz.”

He added, “How many people say ‘it’s just a word,’ I’m sure it was only one word in the classroom at the time too. Yet he feels the same way.”
Even the contestant who said the word agreed.
Matt Gould, of Whitley Bay, said: “I apologize for my role in this. I thought it might be edited differently.

“At the time I said ‘I have an inappropriate number 7 that I know is in the dictionary or a more serious number 7 that I am not sure of.
“I thought this part would be recast with a non-offensive 7-letter word.”
C4 has now apologized. They said: If the speech is a mistake in religion. It is not in line with our values and we apologize for any offense caused.”
Robinson’s tea-time test was already feathered with her prickly comments and her failures.
She told The Mirror last month how the 76-year-old upset some viewers by portraying people from Norfolk, Rochdale and the Isle of Wight, to name a few.
Anger erupted in 2011 over Anne’s remarks about the Welsh people in Room 101 that they were “noisy and annoying”.

Television observers warned her comments were “close to accepting” but judged they did not amount to racism.
Speaking about landing the Countdown role, Ann said, “Some [viewers] They will hate me because they will feel like I ruined their show.”
When asked if she would handle the C4 competitions, she added, “You have to judge how far you can go. I don’t want the contestants to have Kleenex next to them.”
