Nando’s closing up to 50 restaurants amid food warning – full list

Nando was reportedly forced to close up to 50 restaurants after issuing a warning about its food supply.

Peri-Peri Chicken is the British favorite with its array of spicy chicken offerings and delicious side dishes.

But a chicken connoisseur said a number of locations have been closed due to a lack of supplies.

The chain has temporarily closed about 50 outlets across England, Scotland and Wales after experiencing supply shortages, according to the BBC.

Weeks of disruption to distribution across the UK has led to a shortage of supermarket shelves, and Nando’s does not appear to be the last affected.

In an effort to get more chicken on the plates, Nando is sending its staff to suppliers to help move the process forward.

In response to customer outrage on Twitter, Nando described the situation as “kind of a ‘clicker’.”

The restaurant said: “The UK supply chain is kind of a ‘clicker’ at the moment.

“This is having an indirect effect with some of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.

“We’re doing everything we can to get the semi-surroundings back where they belong – on your plates!”

A company spokesperson said: “Due to staff shortages, the UK food industry has experienced disruption across the supply chain and a number of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales have been affected.

“From today Nando will be loaning some of our brilliant team members to support key suppliers and get things moving again. We hope this will have a positive impact on the affected restaurants so please bear with us as we are doing everything we can to get the Peri Peri chicken back where it belongs – on your plate.

He added: “We will remain open for Eat-in and Collect in the UK, just check your local restaurant page to make sure it is open before you visit.”
