A man is in serious condition in hospital after being stabbed outside a takeaway in Ashton-under Lane.
Officers were called to reports of a man stabbed at about 10.25 p.m. Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in serious condition.

Greater Manchester Police said a 16-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
There was a big hoop on the scene Wednesday night with Bowling Green Pub and Chicken Station takeaway behind the police bar.

Pictures of the hoop showed a large amount of blood on the takeaway floor, although the exact location of the stabbing is not known.
A number of police cars were present, including a dog unit that was used to search the area.
The officers were standing guard.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: At approximately 10:25pm on Tuesday 18 August, police were called to report that a man had been stabbed in Market Street, Ashton-under Lane.
“Officers attended and a man with injuries was taken to hospital for treatment as his condition remains serious.

“A 16-year-old man was arrested in connection with this incident and is still under arrest for investigation.
“Anyone with information about this incident should contact the police at 101 or via gmp.police.uk, citing incident 3433-180821, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, at 0800555 111.”
