Labor has said Boris Johnson should consider firing Dominic Raab for authorizing an important phone call about rescuing Afghan interpreters from the Taliban while he was on vacation.
The Secretary of State has reportedly asked Zach Goldsmith, a secretary of state, to call the Afghan foreign minister about an airlift for Afghan interpreters and other staff who have worked with British forces, rather than take the call himself.
Despite advice from embassy officials that Mr Raab should contact Hanif Atmar in person last Friday, a State Department official said Mr.
The Daily Mail reports that Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, has already called Mr. Atmar on behalf of the US translators.
Mr. Raab was on vacation with his family in Crete, staying in a luxury hotel and spending time on the beach with his family. He did not return to the UK until the early hours of Monday morning.
Labor has since called for Mr Raab to be fired over the incident.
