Britain’s Royal Prosecution Service says former Labor MP and independent Jared O’Mara has been charged with seven counts of fraud by false representation.
In a statement, Rosemary Ainsley, Head of Special Crimes at CPS, said: “The charges relate to an allegation that he submitted fraudulent invoices to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority in 2019 jointly with Gareth Arnold, who is also charged with six counts of the same crime.
“Jared O’Mara is accused jointly with John Woodleaf of the Proceeds of Crime Act offense. The Public Prosecution Office has taken the decision to charge the three men after reviewing an evidence file from South Yorkshire Police.”
