The Wolves transfer plan that could have a huge impact on Adama Traore, Chelsea and Tottenham

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore is likely to play football in London next season with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur linked.

The Blues were rumored to be considering the former Barcelona star earlier this summer as they aimed to find a natural right-back to fit in with Thomas Tuchel’s preferred regime. And it seemed that another option was that of Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi, but a blow to the Moroccan was not possible after the player himself chose to move to the French giant Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, Tottenham have presented themselves as real contenders for his signature, with former Wolverhampton boss Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly keen to reunite with the 25-year-old in north London.

To make matters worse for Chelsea, both sides have a plan to strike a deal sooner rather than later.

According to Diario AS, Midlands have put a €40m (£34.2m) price tag on the winger, with Daniel Levy reportedly intent on making a bid within that region.

If that is enough to convince Wolves that Traore will sell to Tottenham, they will then make a move to Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes.

While the latest switch won’t actually affect Chelsea much, it will certainly make Traore’s move to Tottenham Hotspur a lot smoother, thus seeing Chelsea miss out on another key target.

The Blues have so far only secured two arrivals this summer, with Marcos Pettinelli becoming the first window signing on a free transfer ahead of the arrival of record-breaking Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku.

As it stands, Chelsea have Reese James, Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta ready to play at right-back, although the latter is unlikely to have a future at Stamford Bridge.
