Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish reportedly left Love Island 2021 just three days before the final.

During the heartbreaking scenes in last night’s episode, Liberty and Jake split, blaming their differences for the breakup.

Fans feared that the pair had reconciled but according to sources, they have already fled the villa.

“It was a really tough decision for the couple, but it seemed like the right thing to do,” an insider told Mail Online.

They gave everything they had in front of the camera and wanted to let their friends in other couples get a chance to win.

Saying goodbye was emotional to all the islanders as they became very close, like family, but it wouldn’t be long before they were all reunited.

“It’s not 100 percent over for Jake and Liberty, there’s still a lot of emotion involved, so who knows what’s going to happen in the future.”

During the latest release, 21-year-old Liberty captivated Faye Winter and told Jake, “I don’t feel like you love me for me and I want someone to love me for me.”

“I feel like I can’t do anything right,” she added. “I don’t want to go on feeling like I have to change for anyone.”

Departing leaves Faye and Teddy Soares, William Reardon, Millie Court, Kaz Kamui and Tyler Cruikshank, as well as Chloe Burroughs and Toby Arumolaran in the race for the £50,000 prize.

Love Island continues tonight 9pm on ITV2.
