Love Island: Jake and Liberty’s shocking decision rocks the villa

Love Island’s Jake Cornish admitted that his affection for Liberty “faded away” in a brutally honest conversation after their split.

The pair have been together since the beginning of the series, but Liberty ended the romance in a tearful confrontation on Last Night’s Show.

The couple has since left the villa, but before they go, they go out on a date they had planned before the split.

During a conversation on a yacht, Jake admits that he didn’t really feel like he was in love with her because “his affection has faded.”

After going to the seas on the luxury boat, Jake said, “Here we are. Our perfect date we always talked about. You look beautiful today.”

Liberty says, “Thank you. You look cute too. How do you feel?”

Jake replies, “It’s really hard. I didn’t think I’d go on a date with the guy I thought he was.”

Then the former waitress tried to explain why she didn’t think their romance was a success, saying, “I don’t know what happened along the way but the spark just fizzled out.”

Jake then threw a bombshell at his ex-girlfriend, telling her, “On my behalf I felt the affection fade away. This is a big thing for me and nothing against you as a person.”

The acceptance was the first time Jake had admitted that his feelings for freedom had waned, despite the many times she had referred to him.

Liberty continues: “I’m not going to lie – I fell in love with you. At one point I thought I had found the one but as soon as the honeymoon passed you start to see cracks.”

After returning from the trip, the pair greet the other contestants Liberty and ask them to gather around the fire pit because she has some important news.

The moment was disturbing towards the end of last night’s show, as fans speculated that the duo were about to announce their departure.

It has since been reported that the couple left the show and left the villa.

A source told MailOnline: “It was a really tough decision for the couple, but it seemed like the right thing to do.
