Kante missed Chelsea’s opening game of the season against Crystal Palace with an ankle problem.

Meanwhile, Ziyech was substituted in the first half of the Super Cup win against Villarreal last week after falling awkwardly on his shoulder.

Both have since returned to training, with Thomas Tuchel making a final decision on them on Saturday.

The Chelsea boss said: “Both Hakim and Ngolo were in training today. They did everything until yesterday to be in training today.

“They haven’t had any problems at all, so we should definitely get more physical and intense training tomorrow with them and with the team.

“We will decide after tomorrow’s training session at 11am, but for now, it seems very positive that both of them will be in the squad on Sunday.”

Pulisic’s diagnosis comes a week after Ruben Loftus-Cheek contracted the coronavirus, while Arsenal were also dealing with the outbreak after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian and Alex Ronarson were infected.

Tuchel has warned his players to beware of the backlash from Arsenal as they battle their own Covid situation and look to recover from their first-day defeat to Brentford.

He said: “I don’t know what their team will be, but for me the situation is a bit like they are playing the underdog here because of the complications they had with Covid and the difficulties they had in the first game.

They will try to fight from there and that’s fair enough. We have to be fully aware of this because there is a lot of quality in their team and they can hurt anyone if you are not aware of the danger. So it comes down to what we ask of ourselves.”

Chelsea XI Prediction: (3-4-3) Mendy. Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante; Jorginho, Alonso; Mount, Lukaku, Werner

Doubts: Zish (shoulder), Kanti (ankle)

List of infections: Loftus-Cheek (Covid-19), Pulisic (Covid-19)
