Saints Row teaser indicates the game will be revealed next week

A Saints Row teaser site is hinting at a new trailer in the series for next week.

Right below, you can check out a tweet from Geoff Keighley earlier today on August 20 in which the Gamescom Opening Night Live host promoted his show next week on August 25. However, in the tweet, Keighley turns off a teaser website, which is actually listed as saintsrow.com.

As for the site itself, it just has a brick wall with the “reboot” text displayed above it. It’s a strong hint as you’ll see that developer Saints Row Volition is planning to reveal an all-new game in the series for its live nightly opening show next week, which kicks off at 11AM PT/2PM ET/7PM GMT.

In fact, this isn’t the first news we’ve heard about the new Saints Row game. In August 2020, publisher THQ Nordic revealed in a financial call that developer Volition was in “deep development” for the new Saints Row game. Later that year in November, Deep Silver confirmed that a new Saints Row game would be revealed sometime in 2020, but both the publisher and developer have been silent about the game since then, with the only news emerging since in May 2020, Revealing that a Dead Space 2 writer was hired for the game.

For Gamescom’s nightly opening presentation next week, there’s a lot to look forward to. Host Geoff Keighley previously promised to deliver more than two hours’ worth of content, and will provide “a fresh look at the biggest video games coming this holiday and beyond.” Last year’s show saw a slate of impressive new trailers, for heavy hitters like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Dragon Age 4, and much more.
