Harry Kane has been expected to move amid rumors of a £150m bid for Man City

Harry Kane will have to secure a deal with Man City this summer if he has ambitions to play under Pep Guardiola, according to reports.

Kane missed Tottenham’s 1-0 Europa League defeat against Pacos de Ferreira, but could return on Sunday to meet Nuno Espirito Santo with former Wolves.

The Portuguese coach was shy when asked about the Euro 2020 star in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday and about his chances of seeing him at the weekend.

The coach explained, “I can’t answer that. What I can say is that he is better. He is improving his fitness every day.”

“He worked today, he will work tomorrow and he will join the group on Friday. On Saturday we will make a decision on who will be in the next match.”

One hint giving the impression Kane is ready to return to Tottenham on Sunday comes in the form of training photos released ahead of the weekend.

Away from the training ground, speculation continues over the 28-year-old’s immediate future with Sheikh Mansour reportedly making a £150m bid to bring Daniel Levy to the negotiating table, according to The Independent.

However, Athletic’s David Ornstein has predicted that it may be a situation now or never for the Premier League champions if their fans want to see the chain’s top scorer wearing their sky blue uniform.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I don’t think Manchester City will come back later next summer.

“I think there will be different strikers in the market who might look for them in place of the 29-year-old Kane – but there will be a market for Kane, with two years left on his contract, 29; if he still scores goals, he’s still fit.

“We don’t know, that Manchester United, Real Madrid or Barcelona would be in a better financial position and I also think that would be more to Daniel Levy’s liking than selling to Manchester City – and they might be out of the competition in English football.”

If Kane is sold, Fabio Barracci will target Serie A duo Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic to fill the scoring void that the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner could vacate.

The latter of the duo seems more likely at the moment, with Football.london aware that there is genuine interest in the 21-year-old Serbia international from Tottenham.
