The accident was caused by another motorist who was allegedly driving in the wrong direction on the M6 motorway near Palinslow. The driver of this car also died in the accident. The car accident occurred at approximately 7.40 pm on Thursday.
The injuries of the four deceased victims are so severe that it can take days to identify each individual.
A source told the Irish Mirror: “The bodies have not yet been identified and it could take some time for this process to be completed.
“This was a horrific crash.
“You just have to look at the scenery and the condition of the cars to see how bad it is.”

Then the driver of the car crashed into another car horribly.
The four individuals were declared dead at the scene.
The deceased was then taken to Portioncola Hospital, Palinslow, for post-mortem examinations.
Local council member Dermot Connolly said the incident “shocked” the town of Palinslow.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, he said: “No one wants to wake up to that news this morning.
“People learned Thursday night that there was a serious accident on the highway locally here.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all concerned and our sympathies are with the families involved.
“Also, to the emergency services who have had to go out and deal with a very difficult situation.”
