Toddlers of a mother of four are left in tears after being removed from the pool due to her being the only adult.

Lisa Wood tried to take nine-year-old Kelly, three-year-old Alicia, two-year-old Matthew and one-year-old Chanel to Smethwick Swimming Center for free swimming sessions on Thursday, August 19.

But they said they were turned down due to a policy that only allows two children per adult, Birmingham Live reports.

The 33-year-old from Oldbury said her children were left in floods of tears because she had no other adult who could help.

She said, “We got there at 12.50pm at the 1.15pm session, I thought I’d get there early as the kids can swim for free during the holidays.

“I got in there and asked if I could sign them up for freestyle.

“First they said I shouldn’t do it online at home and then they said you should have a different email address for each child.

“She said you can’t come with four kids alone. My family members who are coming in are disabled.

“It’s not fair to my kids. Kelly and Alicia can already swim, and I don’t see the problem.

“I can’t afford to take them on vacation because everything has gotten so expensive, so I thought, cool, I’d take them swimming during the holidays.

“Every day I would do something with them, take them to the farm, to the gardens, and they were so excited to go swimming.

“My two- and three-year-old son, they were crying. They thought we were going for a swim. I promised them we were.

“The staff said to go and get someone else, so I said no one.

“They said everyone has two kids and I said it’s not fair to my kids.”

The grumpy mom told BlackCountryLive that she and her young ones took a three-mile round trip for nothing.

“It’s very important for them to get used to the water,” she added.

“It took us every morning to get ready for a swim.

“I complained to the fund and they just said it’s their policy but I don’t think it’s fair.

“I’m really upset and upset, we were going to have a great day and then go get a piece of chips.

“There are a lot of single fathers who have three or four children.”
