Jill Dennis, who lives on the estate in Wallace, Merseyside, better known as The Old House, says she has been plagued by people who use her home as a toilet on a regular basis.

She claims that her daughter who lives in front of her saw a boy urinating at her gate.

Gill, who moved to the property nearly five years ago, told Liverpool Echo: “My daughter lives right across the street, she was getting out of the car, looked at my destination and saw a little boy petting near the gate.

She went and said, ‘Where’s your mom and dad? He pointed to a car on the other side of the road and they sat there.

She said, “Everyone who fantasizes about urinating.

“Because the sidewalk is narrow beside the main side of the house where the windows are, even though there is an LED light pole in that corner, they will stand outside.

“If they’re at the bar, they’re on their way home looking for a place to pee.

“The number of times I’ve opened the door and they’re standing there doing their business.”

Gill added, “It’s horrible and despicable, it’s been going on since I moved here and the excuse is always ‘I’m desperate’ and I say ‘Okay, go into some field, there’s one at the end of the road.

“This is the oldest house in Wallace, there is a plaque above the door with an inscription, though quite faint, which is either 1621, 1627, or 1629 and contains the letters W and M for William and Mary Beard.

“It used to be known as the Bird House but in the years since it has been called the Old House – 400 years old and beautiful, it just doesn’t feel right to be clearing it all the time.”

The mother bought the house in November 2016 after it had been “beautifully renovated” by its previous owner, and other than the issue of people using her house as a “pee stop”, it’s a lovely area.

Gill said: “This house has a lot of history and is well known, and I think people should respect the house more.

“I don’t mind but sandstone doesn’t take well to pee either and it’s not what you want to see and smell when you walk out your gate.

Sometimes there are pickup trucks and people stop at the ivy at the end of the gate.

“I can see it from the front window, just pull it up, open the door, and stand at the gate.

“There are other places people go if they are desperate – this is my home.

“I was tempted to put up a sign saying ‘Please don’t come down at the gate’ and my dog ​​does a great job protecting the garden but you can’t let your dog out because he could have done that to them and I also don’t want him to grab anything.

“I feel like there must be some public sign on the road that I can’t see saying ‘stop here'”

“It’s a nice area and I love living in the same house – but people need to know they can’t pee here.”
