West Ham will welcome a full crowd to the London Stadium tonight when they host Leicester in the Premier League this evening, after a season that saw David Moyes’ side challenge for the top four and narrowly lose qualification to the Champions League.
The Hammers finished last season with the highest points total in the Premier League, with most of their matches played behind closed doors due to Covid-19. West Ham finished sixth by a point and a place over Leicester, with the two teams vying for the top four for most of the season.
West Ham opened their Premier League campaign with a 4-2 win over Newcastle, and Michael Antonio and Said Benrahma were among the scorers having come back from behind to win. Jamie Vardy scored the only goal in the Leicester match when Brendan Rodgers’ side beat Wolverhampton 1-0.
Both Leicester and West Ham will play in the Europa League this season and will be looking to reintroduce their bids to compete for European spots in the Premier League.

Team news
West Ham have only one injury concern with Arthur Maswako still coming back from a knee injury, so David Moyes’ squad may not change for tonight’s game. Lukasz Fabianski kept his place in goal in the hammer’s first game of the season last weekend despite the arrival of Alphonse Areola – so the West Ham boss could decide to make a change there and give the Frenchman his first game.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Timothy Castagne is available to Leicester after recovering from an eye injury he sustained while playing for Belgium in the Euros. James Maddison is ready to play despite fears of a back injury, while new Yannick Westergaard could make his first start for the club after appearing as a substitute last weekend.
Ryan Bertrand remains out of the visiting team after being contracted with Covid-19, while Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and James Justin are long-term absentees.
Possible lineup
West Ham: Fabiansky. Koval, Dawson; Ogbonna, Creswell; rice, Soucek; Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals, Antonio
Lester: Schmeichel. Pereira, Westergaard, Soyunko, Castin; Ndidi, Tillmans; Perez, Madison, Barnes; Vardy
Prospect
West Ham: 8/13
Draw: 13/5
Leicester: 6/4
prediction
West Ham had plenty of high-goal matches last season, and the trend continued in their opening game at Newcastle. The Hammers found their flush under Moyes as a rebounding offensive side and could look to beat Leicester in the second half. Brendan Rodgers’ side usually have a good defensive record but conceded six goals against West Ham last season. Newcastle showed last weekend that there are holes in West Ham’s defense to exploit, however, Jamie Vardy certainly has a chance or two, in what could be another high-scoring and entertaining match. West Ham 2-2 Leicester
