PayPal Brings Cryptocurrency Trading to the UK

[ad_1]

PayPal offers the ability to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrency across the other side of the pond, which is the best part a year after it launched in the US. In a statement, the company said that UK-based users will be able to buy, hold and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash via their PayPal account. In addition, the PayPal application will enable users to view cryptocurrency prices in real time and access information about the opportunities and risks involved in purchasing such currencies.

Buying and selling cryptocurrency was introduced to all US users of the app in November 2020. Since then, users have been able to verify cryptocurrencies, and the feature has also been rolled out on Venmo. The company adds that users can purchase as little as £1 of the cryptocurrency, and while there is no fee to hold the coin, users will have to pay transaction and currency exchange fees. It’s not clear, yet, whether the total amount you can buy is set at the equivalent of $100,000 (£73,000), as is currently the case in the US.
