Nuno makes judgments about Tottenham’s victory over Wolverhampton

Harry Kane’s latest social media update offers a glimpse into his driven mentality even during a period of intense speculation surrounding his future.

Kane, 28, has dominated headlines for months on end after he told Tottenham he wanted to leave in May.

Manchester City quickly emerged as the striker’s main suitor and saw a £100m bid rejected, but they are said to be returning with a final offer in the closing days of the transfer window.

Throughout the saga, Kane has come under increased scrutiny due to an extended sabbatical leading to allegations that he failed to report training.

Kane put in a great game to help Spurs keep three points at Molineux on Sunday

But the England captain is not averse to spoiling his relationship with the fans of his boyhood club and has continued to be a skilful professional in recent weeks.

Kane returned to training last week and came off the bench to help Tottenham beat Wolverhampton 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

His desire for three points was evident even during his short time on the pitch, as he was booked for wasting time while helping Spurs see through the last few minutes.

Tottenham returned to training on Tuesday after maintaining their record 100 per cent in the Premier League, and Kane took to Twitter to share photos of him participating in training at the club’s base.

The Spurs Academy graduate commented on his letter of ‘work’ and accompanied it with the flexing arm emoji.

Kane’s apparent dedication to Spurs as long as it is in their books would come as no surprise to teammate Oliver Skipp.

“Harry is one of the best strikers in the world so we are always happy when he’s available,” said the Tottenham midfielder after the win over Molyneux.

“You know what Harry is, he’s a professional, so he’ll do his best when he comes onto the pitch.

“You know Harry, he’s always one of the best coaches and he’s kept doing that. As I saw when he came in, he had that effect.”

Tottenham chairman Nuno Espirito Santo praised Kane’s performance, saying: “He did a good job, he helped the team.

“He’s still improving his fitness. But he’s one of the best players in the world. You can see that he helped the team in possession.”

Kane could feature in the second leg of the Europa League second leg against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday night, with Spurs aiming to turn the aggregate score 1-0.

“He’s better today and he’ll be better tomorrow,” Nuno said of Kane Fitness. “He can still get better, we can’t put an end to that.”
