Harry Kane has held talks about an improved contract which he hopes will be worth up to £400,000 a week after admitting defeat in his bid to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester City.
The England captain knew City were not willing to meet Tottenham’s asking price of £150m, but he was seeking a wage that would reflect that assessment and one that would make him among the Premier League’s top players.
