Liverpool fans are looking forward to a new striker’s goal against Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool fans have responded to the latest reports that Kylian Mbappe is set to sign for Real Madrid – and could wrap up as soon as Friday.

The 22-year-old has been at the center of the transfer saga all summer, with only one year left on his contract with PSG, and he is temporarily linked with Liverpool.

However, Real Madrid are not ready to wait for the French striker to sign for free next season and have made an offer of up to 180 million euros, according to Marca.

After holding on to the faint hope that the Reds could convince Mbappe to sign as a free agent – albeit too often – Liverpool fans began adjusting to the news.

At a price of 180 million euros, the World Cup winner would become the second most expensive player in history, although the Spanish side got the chance to sign a pre-contract agreement with the former Monaco player in January.

Real Madrid’s long-standing interest in Mbappe is well known, having faced Paris Saint-Germain for his signature in 2017, while the striker is also a fan of the club as a child.

Despite potentially lining up alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi, according to the report, Mbappe has opted to join Los Blancos as the star player under Carlo Ancelotti.

With Liverpool only spending £36m on Ibrahim Konate, the amount Paris Saint-Germain have demanded for the striker goes well beyond the Reds, as they look to balance the books.

However, some fans have already begun to refocus the next generation’s hopes on Erling Haaland, with the Dortmund striker reportedly having a release clause in his contract at the end of the season.
