The day of the transfer deadline is approaching and Southampton may not be finished yet.
The Saints have made eight signings so far this summer, with Theo Walcott moving from Everton permanently, before the arrival of Tino Livramento, Dinil Simio (both permanent) and Armando Bruga (on loan) from Chelsea, along with defenders Romain Pero. and Thierry Small, striker Adam Armstrong and central defender, Brazilian-Serbian Leanko.
But with less than 31 hours remaining in the summer transfer window, there is still speculation as to whether more new arrivals will be announced at St Mary’s.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has spoken of his desire to have players for every position in his first team, and in recent weeks has spoken of the possibility of signing another number six to provide competition for James Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeo and Ibrahima. Diallo.

One player previously linked with a move to Southampton is Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who was on the Saints’ radar in January for a potential loan deal, only to join West Bromwich Albion.
At the time, he cited his desire to play in midfield as a factor in his decision, with Southampton on the market as full-back in the January transfer window.
Southampton now have a competition for full-back, with Livramento starting ahead of Kyle Walker-Peters at right-back so far this season, while the former Tottenham defender has played at left-back before signing Perrod Smalls in the summer at Newcastle on Sunday.

But Maitland-Niles has now sparked speculation about his future ahead of deadline day, with the Arsenal man appearing to criticize his club in a social media post.
He said: All I want [sic] It’s going to somewhere I want and where I’m going to play.”
That sparked the talk of fans of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, including supporters of the Saints and Everton.
Here’s what some fans said on social media.
Maitland-Niles enjoyed exceptionally well during the 2019/20 season helping Arsenal win their 14th FA Cup title and earn his first England cap after manager Gareth Southgate was impressed by the youngster’s performance.
However, he has fallen out of the standings and has found his chances limited under Mikel Arteta in recent months, spending the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.
Maitland-Niles has just two years left on his current deal with Arsenal, having made 123 appearances since former manager Arsene Wenger made his Arsenal debut in 2014.
It has been linked with another loan move this summer, with Everton reportedly interested in a short-term move for the 24-year-old.
Southampton, who were among the potential candidates last January, still have a place on loan, with Borussia the only player currently on loan from a Premier League club.
