Guimaraes has been closely linked with a move to the Gunners this summer, but nothing concrete has been reported so far.

Now, though, the Brazil international has opened up about how Arsenal dealt with his agent about the move.

He told Globo, in quotes relayed by GFFN: “Arsenal approached my agent, but there was no offer. My goal, and I made it clear to Juninho, is to win the title with Lyon.

“The fans haven’t had one for a long time. We have the French Cup, the Europa League and the League. It’s difficult with the level that PSG has reached, but anything can happen.

“My goal is to win the title here, but I have never hidden my desire to play in the Premier League.”
