Arsenal had a very poor start to the Premier League season.
Arsenal did not score a single point or goal in their opening three matches and suffered major defeats at the hands of Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City, which ended in a 5-0 defeat for Al Ittihad.
However, Arsenal will be boosted by their deadline to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu – who signed for £17m plus additions with minutes to spare – and the potential return of some of their key players, including the likes of Ben White and Thomas. Barty, who should be available for selection again very soon.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at what the team currently looks like against Norwich City on Saturday, September 11th.
Granite Shaka
Ahead of Switzerland’s clash with Greece on Wednesday night, the Swiss Football Association confirmed on Twitter that Xhaka had tested positive for Covid-19.
The rules on the Swiss government’s website state that isolation after a positive COVID-19 test “usually lasts 10 days”. However, the Swiss Confederation is planning another test on Thursday, which could change its situation.
A statement from the Swiss Football Association read: “Xhaka was diagnosed with symptoms on the morning of the match and was immediately isolated in his room.

“The rapid test turned out to be negative, and the next PCR test, which was done to be on the safe side, yielded a positive result in the evening. Xhaka stayed away from contact with his teammates throughout the day.
Another PCR test will take place on Thursday.
“The Baseland canton doctor did not order further procedures for the team because the other players in the first national team either were vaccinated or recovered. One of the staff had to be quarantined.”
However, even if his second PCR test is negative, Xhaka will not be available for Norwich after his red card against City.
Mr. Kolasinac
Kolasinac may be in doubt after he was sent off during Bosnia and Herzegovina’s match with France on Wednesday night, following a shocking interference from Jules Conde, who was subsequently sent off.
The extent of the infection is still unknown.
Ben White
White will be available for selection again after the international cut-off period after the 10-day quarantine ends.
Arsenal’s £50m summer signing tested positive for Covid ahead of the clash with Chelsea in the Emirates on August 22, but he will be available when Arsenal host Norwich next weekend if he returns a negative PCR test before then.

Gabriel was not available for all of Arsenal’s first matches in the Premier League after sustaining a knee injury during his absence with Brazil at the 2020 Olympics.
However, he is back in training ahead of Arteta’s trip to City and appears to be steadily progressing to full fitness, appearing for the Under-23 squad against Tottenham Hotspur.
Thomas Party
The Ghanaian suffered an injury against Chelsea in a friendly match on 1 August and has since been out.
He is said to be working hard with the medical team and is due to return to training sometime this week to work on his fitness.
Eddie Nketia
Nketiahalso suffered an injury against Thomas Tuchel’s side in pre-season, suffering an ankle problem that has kept him thus far.
He was due to return to training in early September, but it is unclear when he will be available next time.
