Xi Jinping faces rebellion over ‘disgusting’ propaganda in textbooks | world | News

Xi Jinping has come under fire from Chinese parents after publishing a new textbook containing pictures and quotes from China’s supreme leader. FRANCE 24 presenters Victor Malle and Régis Le Sommer note that the propaganda is similar to that used during the era of former Chinese dictator Mao Zedong. Mallet went on to say that parents in China reacted angrily to the targeting of their children with pro-Xi propaganda.

“It really reminds me of Mao Zedong,” Mr. Le Sommer told France 24.

“It’s like going back to Maoism, and it’s kind of North Korean,” Mallett added.

“I think it is very annoying.

“I don’t think the outside world has… I mean, Chinese parents have received that with a lot of hostility in mainland China.”

“You don’t just know in Hong Kong where obviously it’s a big problem because before now education was fairly free.

“But in mainland China, obviously, we quoted people not by name, but in mainland China who said it was disgusting, ‘We don’t want my 10-year-old to be exposed to that kind of bullshit.'”

“So, this is not something that is popular with the Chinese people, and I don’t think so at all,” added the head of France 24’s Paris office.

It comes as Chinese school children have been photographed taking part in a mass military exercise.

The mock practice comes less than a week after GB NEWS host Colin Brazier warned that China is “now teaching its children how to worship Xi Jinping”.

Mr Brasier said: “I would like to believe that eventually the Communist Party will fall by the power of the people as it has done before, many times in other parts of the world.

But never before has a country the size of China combined information technology and surveillance in a way that seems to deny even a glimmer of revolutionary opposition.”

“After China expelled God, China is now teaching its children how to worship Xi Jinping,” he added.
