This is the shocking moment when an HGV driver intentionally ran over a house with his truck – twice.

Lanarkshire Live earlier today told how emergency services rushed to a house in the town’s Nyerston area on Monday night after reports of an accident.

Police Scotland confirmed with us that they are investigating after a truck was “deliberately driven into a home” in Lancaster Crescent around 11pm last night.

Now, the new footage, submitted to Lanarkshire Live by the EK Discuss Facebook forum, shows the moment of the frenzy in which the driver storms the house, turns away and back again.

The video shows the driver steering the huge truck towards the building before it crashes into the house. Then he goes forward, stops, shoots again and enters the house again at high speeds.

Pictures of Eddie Stubart’s abandoned truck seem to show the damage to the rear of the truck.

No arrests were made and no one was charged in connection with the incident.

Shocked neighbors earlier told us of a “great” crash and “movie-like” scenes, with one saying it was “absolute chaos” and that they were in “complete disbelief”.

A neighbor told us, “It was an absolute mental mess.

“I’ve never seen anything like this before – the police are everywhere.

“The family, which I don’t really know to be honest, happily got out, which is the main thing. It could have been a lot worse.

“It’s a row of terraces and if a gas source ruptured, there could have been a big explosion.”

Both police and the fire service confirmed they were present, with officers saying an investigation was underway after a truck “deliberately drove home” in Lancaster Crescent.

Another eyewitness who was among the first to call the emergency services told us: “We heard a lot of noise and my oldest son said a truck had crashed into one of the house across from.

“I walked to the door and just got out onto the road and Eddie Staubart’s truck was coming out after she had already come home – to our horror, she turned back and got in again.

Then the truck sped off and got out of here as fast as it could. I called the police and one of my neighbors did, too.

“Before you knew there were ambulances, firefighters and police everywhere, there were hundreds of people and it looked like something out of a movie. It doesn’t look real.

“Thank God, the family got out safely.”
