In order to raise money for the economy, Johnson plans to tax dividend income. From next April, this tax will rise from 7.5 percent to 8.75 in order to raise funds for the NHS. Amid London’s war against Brussels and New York, some financial experts have warned that it could cripple a “critical” part of the economy.
Some have also warned that this new tax increase will hit hard on small businesses that have battled employees during multiple shutdowns.
With such an increased rate, Chris Sanger, head of tax at accounting firm EY, warned that investment could now be hampered.
According to Ms. Sanger, the tax on investor capital could damage the “lifeblood” of the industry.
He told the Daily Telegraph: “You are now effectively increasing the cost of owning shares, and that will far exceed the people who are actually making money for those who actually invest and provide the capital that is the lifeblood of the industry.
“It has effectively increased the cost of capital for a whole chain of companies looking to grow the economy.
“With measures to try to address failures in our system which means people who make money can receive money outside of National Insurance, you end up taxing the entrepreneurs’ capital.”
The profit tax increase comes as the government announced plans to increase National Insurance contributions by 1.25%.
Because of the high cost to the UK taxpayer, Kitty Usher, a former Minister for the City of Labor, claimed the government does not understand the difficulties small businesses face.

As part of its plan, the group also called on the government to adopt new business deals that include financial and professional services.
The UK government is preparing changes to standards for trading stocks, bonds, commodities, insurance and banking capital requirements.
Earlier this year, London lost its position as the largest stock trading center in Europe.
The shift resulted from a ban on EU-based companies trading in London, as Brussels did not recognize UK stock exchanges and trading venues.
This comes as part of a broader problem of not giving parity to the EU in the UK.
This means that companies must apply two sets of trade regulations that have forced some into the continent.
