Afghan Special Forces detain Special Forces after armed police raid Manchester Quarantine Hotel

An Afghan special forces member, who came to the UK with his family, has been detained after armed police raided his quarantine hotel in Manchester.

The man, who arrived in Britain on an evacuation flight from Kabul, was arrested about 10 days ago on the orders of the Home Office.

Officials declined to confirm the reason for the man’s arrest, but it is not believed to be terrorism-related or of concern to MI5.

Afghan Special Forces personnel who supported the British military effort were given safe haven in the United Kingdom after the withdrawal of Allied forces.

Greater Manchester Police and the Home Office declined to comment on the case, but it is believed the investigation may be related to immigration issues.

Last month, it emerged that a person on the UK’s no-fly list had been flown to Birmingham as part of the evacuation. The no-fly list is designed to prevent people deemed a security threat from arriving in the UK.

But after investigation, it was determined that they were not the persons involved and no further action was taken.
