Can James earn Rafa’s trust?
It has come as no surprise to see so many of Rafa Benitez’s recent press conferences on one man.
Many thought James Rodriguez would have moved to the new pastures by now. In fact, the Blues coach himself could have been in that camp after informing the playmaker that he would be allowed to leave.
Amid copious amounts of transfer rumors, periods of isolation, controversial Twitch streams and social media comments – there was no move for the Colombia international.
As very belated reports of a potential move to Turkey begin to fade into embers, Benitez sat down to face the media before leading his side for the second time this season at Goodison Park against Burnley.
But the question of what might come next for Rodriguez has been on the minds of reporters and supporters alike.
