Britney Spears has revealed her engagement to partner Sam Asgari.

The 39-year-old pop star has been with the 27-year-old Iranian actor and fitness trainer for over four years.

The duo met on the set of a music video in 2016 and Spears recently praised him for supporting him through her “toughest years.”

She posted a video on Instagram of her wearing a diamond ring, and wrote, “I can’t believe it,” along with a diamond ring emoji and a heart.

In the video, Asghari asked if she liked the ring and replied, “Yes!”

Asgari’s business manager Brandon Cohen confirmed the engagement with People, adding, “The couple made their long-term relationship official today and have been deeply moved by the support, dedication, and love that has been expressed to them.”

It comes just days after Spears’ father, Jamie, asked a Los Angeles court to consider ending the guardianship that has controlled the singer’s personal and financial affairs for more than a decade.

The legal arrangement was put in place in 2008 after she suffered a series of mental breakdowns but has recently been struggling to end them, accusing her father of abusing his role.

During a hearing in June, she said guardianship prevents her and Asghari from marrying and starting a family.

Spears has been married twice before. She married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 but that marriage was called off after a few days.

Later that year, she married dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children, before the marriage ended in divorce in 2007.
