Jordan Pickford – 7
He made quite a few hard balls throughout the match as Burnley tried to increase the pressure and there wasn’t much they could do about the hit that managed to find the back of the net.
Seamus Coleman – 7
A typical active display of a full-back in a role a little further off the field for the most part, although he was not able to make much of an impact in the final third.
Yeri Mina – 7
He engaged in a physical battle with Chris Wood throughout the match and handled the pressure imposed by the striker very well. A strong return to the Colombia international.
Ben Godfrey – 7
In his first appearance of the season, the defender handled Burnley’s pressure well at the heart of the Everton defense in the first half. It was eventually pulled early in the second period as the Blues changed their system.
Michael Caine – 8
It’s been a tough start to the season, but even without his superb goal to get Everton back in the game, it was his best match. Composed and mature in the back against his old team in a real fight.
Lucas Digne – 7
He only had fleeting chances to move forward, but he gave Everton a solid option down this wing if they could find him on a more regular basis. His connection to the fixed piece may not have been as strong as is usually the case on this occasion.
Abdallah Doukur – 7
He struggled with possession throughout the first half but rose in the second half in that sense. His through passes to Demarai Gray in particular for the winger’s goal were outstanding.
Alan – 7
Like his midfield partner, he did not use the ball effectively enough in the first 45 minutes to put his team ahead. That changed after the break, but perhaps not to the same level as Ducor.
Andros Townsend – 8
What a second half of summer signature. His assists for a header to Michael Keane were good, but after a few minutes his ability to run with his left foot was the highlight of a great period for the hosts.
Richarlison – 7
He was dragged into a physical fight for most of the match but faced that challenge well the entire time. He didn’t score his goal, or really a chance to score, but his play at the top end of the field was still going strong.
Dimari Gray – 8
He looked like one of the most brilliant players in the first half and finally earned his reward in the second half with a great spin through the middle and a solid finish to score three points.
alternatives
Andre Gomes – 7
He helped change the balance of the Everton side completely and was making a strong impact once again, although he could be a bit frustrated not to score himself.
Salomon Rondon – N / A
He got a great reception when he first came.
Alex Iwobi – N/A
