Vaccinated travelers face having to take two PCR tests after arriving in the UK from any other country, according to reports.

Anyone who does not have two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine could also have to self-isolate for up to ten days upon return in a campaign against the “No-Nos”.

The reforms are expected to see a relaxation of the rules for travelers who have been fully vaccinated. Currently, travelers are required to take a pre-departure lateral flow test up to 72 hours before boarding flights and ferries to the UK.

But that can be canceled out entirely for this group, saving people around £30 a time. Another option said to be under consideration is to allow travelers to use the NHS’s free lateral flow tests instead.

The requirement to take a ‘second day’ PCR test after arriving in the UK could also be waived for travelers who have made a double hit – saving each person on average around £75.

According to reports, the changes are likely to take effect from October 4, before the mid-semester break.

It comes after Health Minister Sajid Javid indicated this week that PCR tests for travelers practicing double stabbing would be scrapped in favor of cheaper lateral flow tests.

Javid told the House of Commons on Tuesday that changes to the rules for international travel would be announced by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps “as soon as it is ready”.

Some private testing companies listed on the government website have been accused of advertising misleadingly low prices and providing poor service.
